Entering and leaving a customers home

On starting a new care package it will be agreed between those involved how access is to be gained. This may be in the form of someone answering the door, electrical, mechanical or coded door entry systems.

Should a circumstance arise where a Support Worker cannot gain access, action will be undertaken to determine the whereabouts of the Customer. If the Support Worker is still unable to gain access and the whereabouts of the Customer is still unknown, the Support Worker will immediately inform the Team Manager. The Team Manager will seek the assistance of the Customers next of kin. If the next of kin cannot be contacted and the Team Manager believes the Customer may be at risk, the police will be notified and the appropriate action taken
