Our service offers a person-centred approach which adheres to the needs of each individual. We look at Customers’ likes, dislikes and any areas of interests that Customers would like to develop, while working to a timescale that suits their individual ability.
In-house we offer various activities to enhance life skills, be it from learning to make a hot drink to creating a meal of the customer’s choice. We look at food-safety and money handling to work alongside this.
We love arts and crafts at the centre and we look at regularly creating our own pieces of work based on particular art styles. We can also offer jewellery making, clay modelling and sewing. We have a camera club that enables customers to go to places of interest and get creative!
The Centre holds a weekly drama group where Customers can perfect their acting skills. The teacher works to the ability of the Customers and not only works on the acting, but also looks at stage set up and creates props with the customers to use.
We have a lovely garden area where various plants and vegetables grow, including a herb garden. We like to make sure the garden is well-maintained, so we have a group of gardeners who work on weeding, pruning and keeping the general upkeep to a good standard.
Our service also offers community-based activities such as bowling, cinema, lunches out, day trips etc, that enhance social interaction skills. We also incorporate money-handling skills and journey planning.
